I’ll be honest – it’s difficult to move in London at the moment without an older person telling you what a transgressive time they had at the Blitz or the Electric Ballroom or whatever whilst being skint and looking good – like punk before it, this is not a movement that underestimates it’s cultural contribution, which can lead to a lot of wind – that being said this genuinly is good and worth your time. Has all the obvious stuff, but much more detail, and lots of info on lesser known nights, squats, people making clothes, faces that aren’t around any more or keep out of the limelight all with fleshed out context and some nuance. So all in all a pretty comprehensive overview of a part of underground London, told by the people themselves.
