Very scarce pamphlet produced to promote ‘Thing’. Cover features Joan Jett Black by Lee Kay. Inside has reviews with stockists to rear. Thing was an influential african american gay and trans zine out of Chicago that ran for 10 issues before Ford decided to wind things up to focus on other projects. He died a couple of years later from an AIDS/HIV related illness. The zine itself is outstandingly rare, with the only a few institutional holdings. Not only an important part of african american gay history, but a related artefact of the Club/Ballroom/Voguing scene outside of New York.
