Nicolas Silatsa

Edition : First / Paris / Self Published / 1981 / Hardcover. / VG+ / VG+
Small 4to, 144pp. Cloth in photographic dustwrapper. Black & White plates. Text in French.

Scarce self published portrait of blackness in late seventies and early eighties France. Silatsa came from Cameroon to study refridgeration but abandoned his study after 2 years to concentrate on photography, of which this is the result. Very much an every day chronicle of life in Paris and a document of the immigrant experience, with all the good and bad that entails.
