A quite impossible to find oddity. Trillo published very little during the period he was working, with only the odd appearance in perodicals of the time. What makes this all the more baffling- it is, in essence- a diary for 1992, but every adjacent page has an image from Trillo’s archive, and covers a decade of his work- 1981-1991. Trillo has retrospectively been recognised as one of the great chroniclers of youth culture, as well as la movida madrilena. Many of the images in this book are from Madrid, and cover Skaters, Bikers, Rockabillies, Hip Hop kids, Mods, Skinheads and Indie kids, during a time in which Spain was still emerging from fascism, and young people were just beginning to establish separate and distinct identities. London is also covered a little, but the meat of the book is Madrid during the eighties. Due to the fact that the book was published as a functioning diary- very few copies have survived unscathed, or were even kept, making what is essentially Trillo’s key monograph impossibly obscure.
