Oblique Strategies

Brian Eno, Peter Schmidt

Edition : First / London / Self Published / 1975 / Softcover. / VG+ / VG
113 cards in gilt stamped leatherette box. Text in English. Numbered edition of 500 copies. Signed by both Eno and Schmidt to titlecard. A slight cigarette smell on the cards as one would hope and expect, and the case has very much been used.

Famously used by Eno during the recording of David Bowie’s Berlin triptych of albums- Low, Heroes and Lodger. Oblique strategies is a set of cards created by Brian Eno and Peter Schmidt used to break deadlocks in creative situations. Each card contains a (sometimes cryptic) remark that can help you resolve a creative dilemma. Whenever you’re stuck you draw a card and ponder how it applies to your situation. You may draw as many cards as you wish.
