Created for the 50th anniversary of a German pharmaceutical firm. As book object, hands down it’s my favourite, and one of the best and most intelligent (and fun) ever made, despite the dry subject. seems like it’s a ‘thing’, here’s what Parr had to say about it; “Madaus, founded in 1919, is one of the world’s leading producers of pharmaceuticals, particularly those produced from plants, and the book extols the virtues of homeopathy and the social role of developing new drugs to fight disease. Not only a cornucopia of design and layout ideas, it features several pop-up pages in the style of a children’s book. The result combines a high purpose with a sense of fun, as if the customers of Madaus – institutions used to dealing with the question of man’s mortality – could benefit from an injection of laughter into the serious business of medical research.”
